The following photographs were contributed by Walter Owsiany who served at Port Lyautey between 1957 - 1959.

Walt joined a Naval Reserve Unit in Eddystone Pa in 1953 as a Fireman rating. He went to Bainbridge Md. boot camp in 1954. In 1955 his reserve unit was transferred to the Philadelphia Navy Yard where he cross rated to the Seabees. He then went to the Great Lakes Training Center for two weeks schooling in 1956. In 1957 he went on active duty and in March, was assigned to Port Lyautey. At Port Lyautey, he was assigned to the Seabee detachment in the Base Public Works section.

He left Port Lyautey in February 1959 and was discharged from the Philadelphia Navy Yard in April 1959.
