NAF Port Lyautey, French Morocco

The following photographs were contributed by Ron Lake who was a DK1 while stationed at Port Lyautey between February 2, 1952 and May 30, 1954. His duries included being Agent Cashier which involved the exchanging of American currency to MPC's, arranging travel pay for flight crews and exchanging MPC's to francs.

Ron retired from the Navy on April 30, 1963 with 20 years of service and retired from the US Postal Service as a letter carrier in 1985.

The Chief in the photograph is a Chief Shipserviceman whose last name was Edwards. He was an aviation pilot (AP). The bluejacket is unidentified. They were hitching a ride on a VR-24aircraft to Tangier.
